Under Construction...
This site is currently under construction. We apologise for the lack of shininess of this page at the moment, but we had some issues getting into the webserver that only just got resolved. Hopefully by next week we can have a very BITS 2.0 website up and running; and hopefully it wont look like a 13 year old myspace kiddie's website by then, too. :P
Until the upgrade happens, take a read through the rest of this page to get an idea of who BITS is and what we do.

There are a number of ways to contact BITS

ZOMG! It's BITS! Umm, who the hell are they again?
We are the Bachelor of Information Technology Society (a.k.a BITS)... but the name is just a tradition, really.
We're just a (very friendly and cool) bunch of geeks who are out to have a bit of fun and meet new people during their degrees.
It is true that we have industry events tailored towards I.T and Software Engineering, but that is only half of what we do. As far as our social events go, all you need to fit in is an inner geek and a desire to participate in some deliciously geeky fun.
What we give to you
There are two main services that we provide to our members:
- We organise social events ranging from ub3r geekz0r gaming fests, to casual soccer games in the park, to free lunch time BBQs and beyond!
- We serve as a liaison to industry reps from the Software Engineering and I.T sectors and organise industry reps to talk to students regarding current jobs and trends.

BITS Uber Gaming Fest
62 Queen Street Mall, Brisbane CBD
Description
The 6 hours will cost a base cost of $12 for members or $15 for non-members (but you can join up on the night, no dramas). We'll also rustle up pizza and drinks and we'll ask you to pitch in some funds ($5 max) to dig in.
The perfect start of semester get together to meet everyone, to show off your ub3r micro and to pwn some noobs. ;) Please note that this is not a LAN where you take you computer in. It's in a net cafe that already has the computers and games set up. (sif we'd make you cart your box all the way into the city :P)
To RSVP for the event:
Come the the 2nd foyer of GPS (building 78) from 12-3pm with a $5 deposit for the event. We need the deposit so that that we can have computers reserved for you at the bunker for the night. If you *really* cant make this, then shoot an email to the bits email and we can work something out. We have to do the RSVP though, since we can't afford to waste all of BITS's money paying for seats for people that don't show up. Sorry.
BITS Late Night Recharge
Description
Once we've idea of the best night, we plan to get some discount energy drinks on ice and have an outrageous evening maccas/pizza run. Something to get us by during a late night in GPS.
BITS Soccer in the Park
Description
